Chosen's History
In the year 2000, the Lord began to speak to District Elder Kinard in various ways about the pastorate. Even though this was something that God had shown her and put in her spirit, she continued to serve faithfully in her current church before answering the call. In 2002, during a Carolina State Council which was convening in Florence, South Carolina, Bishop Marion E. Wright confirmed what God had been saying to her for the past two years. After fasting and praying and discussing it with her husband, she held a meeting with her pastor, District Elder Ezekiel Johnson, not only to receive his permission, but also to receive his blessing. After receiving both, she proceeded with the vision that the Lord had given her.
In December 2003, Chosen Generation Ministries (Chosen) was birthed. Permission was obtained from the officials of the Clinton YMCA and the first Bible Class was held on December 10, 2003. In February 2004, the ministry was received as an affiliate Church of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, under the leadership of Bishop Norman L. Wagner. At the time of it's inception Chosen served in the 24th Epistle District under the leadership of Bishop Richard E. Young. Also February 2004, Chosen began renting a small storefront building (approx. 800 sq ft) in the southeastern section of Laurens County.
A year after the birth of Chosen, District Elder Kinard and her 7 members purchased their first edifice which was formerly the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses (approx. 8000 sq. ft). This is the same Kingdom Hall that she grew up in as a child into her early adult life. Isn't God Good!!!
Chosen enjoys abundant favor from the Lord. We have too many accomplishments to list here. So, we will only name a few, we have renovated the building by adding a baptismal pool, new carpet, chairs, etc. We purchased a fellowship hall in 2005 which we have out grown. This building now serves as a multipurpose building housing various classes. We purchased a church van in 2005. In April of 2007 we purchased additional property that is adjacent to the Campus that Chosen sits on. This property has a three bed room house. It is truly an awesome testimony to what God will do with yielded vessels.
