Descriptions of Select Ministries
Excel Tutoring Ministry - Sister Amini - This Ministry is to assist our school age children with their studies. Since its inception, many of our students that were receiving low and even failing grades have excelled to making A's & B's. The first year that this ministry was in effect, many of our students went from failing to completely excelling.
Ministerial Alliance -Training is given to equip, train and prepare the ministers to fully utilize the gifts that God has given to them. They are trained to operate in a spirit of excellence to assure that the saints of God are blessed, uplifted and edified. This Ministry also serves as an instructional tool for ministerial ethics and etiquette.
Agape Connection Marriage Enrichment - Workshops, outtings and seminars are held to assist couples in making their marriages all that has God designed them to be. There are also open forums for decision that are limited to married & engaged couples only.
The Music Ministry - Minister Dennis Cancel - Serves as a conduit to assist in ushering in the presence of God in each of our services. This ministry consists of the Chosen Voices Sanctuary Choir, Youth in Praise Choir, Chosen Praise Worship Leaders and all musicians.
Men of Valor Men's Ministry - Minister Billy Neil Jackson - This ministry serves to anchor and encourage the men to serve as leaders in their homes, the church and the community. Shepherd's Care Ministry- Sister Yolanda Cancel -This is a Ministry of helps to assist the members that may have financial or other needs. This ministry is designed for the membership only.
Unity Fest Hospitality - Sister Donna Fincher - This Ministry is responsible for dinners, baby showers, bridal showers, new member gatherings, and any other function that can provide hospitality to the membership at Chosen and our visitors.
Media Ministry M.I.T. Willie Brown - Provides all technical support for the ministry. Responsibility also includes recording of all services on CD and DVD which they make available for a nominal fee.
"New" R.O.T.C. Reaching Out To Children - Sister Wanda Murphy - This is our elite Youth Ministry. This ministry is the conduit for all ministries at Chosen that involve young people. The purpose of this ministry is to equip and train our young people at an early age to be mighty in God. They sing, they perform plays, they do recitals, they are praise & worship leaders, they are puppeters, they work in the First Steps Nursery and they are ushers. All of this takes place in an environment where they are learning the "Word" of God, learning to be worshippers and to love the God that created them. They have their very own Bible Class each Wednesday night at 7pm in the summer months. They attend our Excel tutoring ministry during the School Year. They operate a store on the campus "The Little Lambs Market".
Christian Education - Minister Dennis Cancel - This is the educational department of the Ministry. This department consist of the Christian Education Department as well as Excel, and Vacation Bible Institute. Several classes are held on Sunday mornings at 10 am. This department is also responsible for several activities that are held during the summer months along with a summer trip for the youth.
Daughters of the King - Evangelist Leann Williams - This is one of the women's ministries that is specifically designed for ages 18 up to 49. There are special Bible Classes, special worship services, exercise classes, trips and other gatherings held to form a spirit of unity and fellowship among the women.
